TSE organises a number of Training sessions for Junior members in all three disciplines. Training sessions are held on a regular basis, this helps to develop their core strength, competitive results and overall personal achievement levels. Most of the sessions are designed specifically for our Junior members, but some training session will be incorporated into the main club sessions with Senior members.
Swim Sessions

Sundays 6.00 - 7.30pm at Ongar Leisure Centre
This is a mixed session with Adult and Junior members. Generally, there are three coaches supporting six lanes of the 25 metre pool. This session is aimed at all levels of ability, for example people who can only swim two lengths, to those swimmers who can complete the full training session, or strong club swimmers. The main focus for the Juniors is to develop a good Front Crawl technique to allow them to complete the swim section of a race efficiently and improve their overall technique. Cost is just £2 per session for club members.
Bike Sessions One session per month Oct to March, Saturdays 9-10am at Thorndon Country Park, Brentwood Check junior calendar for dates. An hour's off road mountain biking with coach Dean. Be prepared to get muddy! The emphasis is on having fun whilst improving your cycling skills and fitness. The sessions include bike handling skills and your mum and dad are welcome to join in, if they too are members of the Club. You will need a mountain bike or cyclo cross bike for this session. ROAD TYRES ARE NOT SUITABLE as the terrain is muddy and slippery. As usual cycle helmets are compulsory. All abilities will be catered for, but it is suggested that you are comfortable with riding at least 4 miles on off-road tracks. The session is FREE but bring some money for a hot chocolate in the cafe afterwards! Track Cycle Training One session per month March-July, Saturdays 1:30-4:30pm Check the junior calender for dates Ongar Cycle Training A bike session for Junior members only, on grass behind the leisure centre. This session focuses on cycling techniques, it includes warm up exercises and drills. The session will then continue to build up to Intervals / Relays which will help to develop speed and also add some fun to the cycling! There will be a small charge to cover coaching costs.

Run Sessions
Cross Country Run Training
Weekly November to April, Saturday 9-10am at Thorndon Country Park, Brentwood Come and join this mixed ability adult group for some cross-country running training. YOU MUST BE A STRONG RUNNER FOR THIS SESSION AND CAPABLE OF RUNNING 5 MILES. The suggested minimum age is 10. The session is FREE, but bring some money for a hot chocolate in the cafe afterwards! Meeting point is the car park by the Visitor Centre, Thorndon North.
Ongar Run Training
Alternate Sundays April to July 4:45-5:45pm on the field behind Ongar Leisure Centre.

A run session for Junior members only, on grass behind the leisure centre. This session focuses on running techniques, it includes warm up exercises and drills. The session will then continue to build up to Intervals / Relays which will help to develop speed and also add some fun to the Running! There will be a small charge to cover coaching costs.
School Holiday Camps
During school holidays the club organises training day camps which are specifically aimed at the Junior members and are very popular.

The training day camps normally take place on Fridays at Coopers Company & Coburn school, Upminster
The Training Day events breaks into groups of similar ability, but each group will cover the same programme. The day comprises swim, run, bike and transition training. The sessions are coached by TSE’s BTF Coaches. For safety reasons, a maximum number of participants are permitted so first come, first served.
