We organise a number of training sessions for junior members.

Sundays 5:30pm – 6.30pm at Ongar Leisure Centre

This is a mixed session with adult and junior members. Generally, there are two coaches supporting six lanes of the 25 metre pool. This session is aimed at all levels of ability, from people who can only swim two lengths, to those swimmers who can complete the full training session, to strong club swimmers.

The main focus for the Juniors is to develop a good front crawl technique to allow them to complete the swim section of a race efficiently and improve their overall technique.

Cost is £2.50 per session for standard club members (free for premium members). 


bike1Track cycle training at Dunton

The dates will be published in 2017.

Time 1:00pm – 3:00pm

Children must have road-worthy bikes, so parents should check bikes including tyres, brakes and  gears. Seat height should be so that child can touch floor on tiptoe. They also must wear a helmet. They don’t need a racing bike, a mountain or hybrid bike is good, but not suitable for bmx.

Cross Country run training

Weekly November/December, Saturday 9-10am at Thorndon Country Park, Brentwood. Come and join this mixed ability adult group for some cross-country running training.

You must be a strong runner and capable of running five miles. The suggested minimum age is 10. The session is FREE, but bring some money for a hot chocolate in the cafe afterwards!

Meeting point is the car park by the Visitor Centre, Thorndon North.
